Evelyn Salt Vs. Leah Givens

Evelyn Salt who is portrayed by Angelina Jolie in the movie Salt is one badass female spy. Whenever I tell people about The Galadima Conspiracy and the character Leah Givens, the first thing they tend to ask is if she is anything like Evelyn Salt. Well...

Like Evelyn Salt, Leah's training started at an early age. Her father who was a CIA agent taught Leah how to fight and use a gun before puberty. Also, like Salt, Givens is a woman in male dominated occupation who never hesitates to pull the trigger. She's an excellent markswoman (marksman) who has a reputation for killing in public places. Then again, both women have gone rogue, however, for completely different reasons.

Salt went rogue because she was accused of being a Russian spy. Givens went rogue when she went after the man that killed her partner and his family, and ultimately ended her career in the CIA.

Leah Givens moves to London after being dishonorably discharged from the agency and takes up the job of a transporter (think Jason Statham without the hot cars). She tries to live a simple life but makes an ultimate mistake when she succumbs to the advances of a charming Kay Williams who she falls in love with within hours but also who betrays her and puts her in the way of danger.

In The Galadima Conspiracy, we meet Leah Givens but in subsequent books (Hersassin,Givens) we get to know what makes this woman tick. Leah is cranky during her periods, she's aware of her sexuality and takes full advantage of it and she would go any lengths to protect those she loves.
