Nigerian internet fraudstar Abayomi Cole and his best friend and partner have conned the wrong man. Loner who kills for a living.

Excerpt from Yahooligans

Robert Hayden checked his phone. There were no new messages. No emails, no texts. He realized he was worried. It was unlike him to be worried about anything besides his hair and money. The only other thing he could remember ever worrying about was Bernice his Birman cat.

He had been worried about Bernice when he left her alone in his securely locked apartment with no food or water, and no means of getting any for twenty-two days. And even that had not worried him until the twentieth day and the realization that his apartment would stink if Bernice had died.

Bernice died somewhere between the fifth and tenth day and the stench in the kitchen where she had given up seemed like it was going to last forever so he moved out of the apartment. She was the last pet he had ever kept and the last living creature he had ever worried about until now.

He looked at his phone; a Blackberry 9780. He didn’t care much for phones or gadgets but he had to admit they were pretty darn reliable. Nothing was completely reliable, not even the air we inhaled but his Blackberry was yet to fail him. It had been five years and not once had it died on him or failed to deliver a message promptly.

He realized he was worried mostly because he wasn’t sure of his situation. This was a new relationship - if it was even a relationship yet. Had he been rejected? Had he made a mistake somewhere? Had he said or done something wrong? He started to send another text but stopped. He wasn’t bothered he’d look desperate or clingy. He stopped because he was not sure what to say or how to say it.

He put the phone down. He had work. Maybe if he focused on the job at hand, he wouldn’t worry so much.
